Course Schedule Budget Reductions Task Force

CPC Logo

In light of the current fiscal situation at the State level and the impacts it is having on the District, a necessity exists for the college to look at ways to streamline and focus the college’s course offerings in its class schedule in accord with the priorities established by CPC for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

Charge:

The taskforce is charged with the responsibility for gathering input from the academic areas and making recommendations for reducing and/or redirecting expenditures in the college’s 1300 and 1400 adjunct and overload accounts. The recommendations should take into account aligning resources with the enrollment targets, enrollment trend data, and student’s needs for meeting their educational goals, which may include decreasing the total number of sections offered, redirecting resources to areas identified as a priority while compacting other areas in order to meet our budgetary needs.

The charge of this task force is limited to addressing the immediate and short-term Enrollment Management issues.

Reporting:

This committee will report to the College Planning Committee. It is expected that the taskforce will complete the recommendations for submission to the CPC by the end of the Spring term and prior to the CPC’s last meeting of the term.

Co-chairs:

Executive Vice President, Academic Affairs or designee
Academic Senate President or designee

Membership:

Associate Dean, Institutional Effectiveness (Eva Bagg)
Dean, Academic Services (Meena Singhal)
Vice President, Administrative Services (Ann-Marie Gabel)
Research Systems Analyst (Janice Miller)
1 Instructional Dean
2 current or former Department Heads from each school (Except 1 Department Head from School of LRTT and 1 from School of PE and Athletics)
1 CCA Faculty representative
1 CHI Faculty representative
1 Student

It is expected that the task force will draw upon additional resources from the pool of knowledge, experience, and technical expertise as necessary.
