Rabbit Population Management Task Force

CPC Logo

Due to the ever-increasing rabbit population on campus, the damages and negative environmental impacts which they cause, and the continually increasing expense the District incurs while dealing with these impacts, the Facilities Advisory Committee has suggested developing a task force to help mitigate this issue.  The Committee recognizes the historical relevance, as well as the positive identity aspects of LBCC’s ever present rabbit population, and therefore recommends that the District attempt to humanely manage the rabbits, via the oversight of a Task Force.

Charge

The Task Force will explore various options to help mitigate the negative impacts to the campus caused by the rabbit population.  After reviewing several options, they will bring forward a recommendation for the benefit of the students, faculty and staff.

Timeline:

The Task Force will bring forward a recommendation to CPC in the Fall of 2009.

Membership:

Director, District Facilities – Co-Chair
Academic Senate Representative – Co-Chair
Irrigation & Grounds Maintenance Tech.
Environmental Health & Safety Services Manager
Facility Maintenance Manager
AFT Representatives (2)
Academic Senate Representatives (2)
Representative from Community Relations & Marketing
Student Representative

It is expected that the task force will draw upon additional resources from the pool of knowledge, experience, and technical expertise as necessary.
