After many months of hard work, the Technology Plan Task Force has completed the development of the Technology Master Plan 2009-2014. The task force presented the Tech Plan to the College Planning Committee (CPC) on May 7, 2009. The Tech Plan “directs and provides a framework for technology acquisition and deployment campus wide.” It will guide our efforts for the next five years to provide our students and staff with the optimal technological resources and the necessary structures to support them.
Since technology is an integral part of almost everything we do at LBCC, the Tech Plan will also have an effect on your work, so the CPC is asking for your feedback on this important plan. This is your opportunity to voice any concerns or offer any suggestions you may have. Please review the following documents:

Charge of the Technology Plan Task Force:
Develop the LBCC Technology Master Plan for the next five years.
Include these considerations:
- Policies, strategies, and standards that enhance, coordinate, and integrate the college’s instructional/information technologies, telecommunications systems, access, security, and disaster recovery/business continuance
- Hardware, software, and telecommunications infrastructure (including replacement cycles) and their costs
- Enhancements for college planning and operations such as, planning/review system, instructional and distance learning technologies, student services systems, administrative information technologies to support data warehouse, data and imaging archiving, web interface for college communications and functions
- Needed levels of support staff, staff development and training for all members of the college community, self-serve learner services
- Facilities remodels, construction, and utilization plans to properly support the colleges instructional/information technologies and telecommunications systems
- Alternatives and phase-in plan
Timeline:
Draft of entire plan due for review at the December College Planning Committee meeting.
